thanksgiving break. how i shall miss thee. remember that time we had a good time at boss' parents' house? remember the time that we had fakesgiving with my family and we ate some awesome food and set up christmas for my mom? and holy cow, how could we forget the awesome time we had chilling with the lady m? relaxing? going antiquing? thrifting? helping my friend move? finding new blogs? not grading a single paper? being besties? remember that time?
here's how it works, i got 2 cork boards (pretty sure i bought them at michaels with a coupon), 4 sheets of felt (i chose pink and red), some pom-pom ribbon (pink), red velvet ribbon, some adhesive spray, a numbers stencil, some smallish ornaments and a pint-sized tree topper star, and some white paint. combine all of the above ingredients and you get an advent calendar of awesomeness.
the tree sits on my kitchen table. he looks a little plain right now. but just you wait, henry higgins, just you wait...pretty soon, we'll be looking for an open space to put those last few ornaments.
i can't freaking wait.
ok, christmas. thank you. as i'm typing, i can feel the anxiety and stress about the return of real life melting away. yes, there will be things to do. yes, it won't be an easy-breezy next few weeks. but in the middle of it, there are cookie exchanges, gingerbread parties, st. nick night, christmas parties, and at the end...*ahhh...christmas.
things i've learned:
1. i made this craft 2 years ago. so i didn't take any pics of the process. i could have remade it to take pics, but honestly, it is such an easy craft, i know you can figure it out. if you have any questions, send me an email. i'd love to help out however i can.
