ring around the rosies...

i'm pretty sure we have the plague.
i mean, it's nasty over here. snot. coughing. scary hoarse voices. headaches. black death. you know, the useh...
we've been sick for almost 2 weeks now. *sigh.
my house is trashed.
my laundry in piles.
my sink. wow.
today i *might be pretending that i live in downton abbey. and that carson and mrs hughes will take care of all of this mess. they're such brilliant people, i'm sure they will.

right.

we're heading to the doctor's this afternoon for the lady m. fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

carson, please leave my tea by the bed.

remember the time i had a blog and i loved it.
and life got beyond crazy over the past few months and i couldn't blog as much as i wanted (or needed. we're talking wicked huge project backup, friends).
but.
things are starting to settle down.
life is getting clearer.
i'm happy to say that once this sick is gone, i'll be back.
i know you've freaking missed me.

sweets for the sweet...handmade chocolate party favors!

so lady m's birthday is coming up. friday, in fact. she'll be two. and i'll feel old. and proud. she's an awesome girl. i mean, freaking awesome. you gotta meet her. 

so. 

her party. 

i'll be posting some details about it this week. but we're having a tea party. an {i} love birds tea party, to be exact. there are two things she loves. birds. and tea parties. so why not celebrate both, right? agreed. 

my primary goal for this party is for it to be wicked nice without a huge price tag...so i'm thrifting/sale-ing most of it. and cutting back. the guest list is limited (sorry, other friends, we had to...my house and wallet are only so big), the decor is mostly thrifted/repurposed/awesome, and the favors...well, they're all handmade. i like that more, anyway. sometimes those little favor bags get jammed full of things that kids will never use. stuff for stuff's sake. and i didn't want to go there this year.
